Hockey in the Heart of Holland

It is with great pleasure to inform you that my son, Amila Jimana (16), doing grade 10 at Cambridge High school, has been selected to the Xenon Festival Hockey Team to participate in the Netherlands Hockey Tour 2025. The team is selected amongst the top hockey schools, not only in East London, but around the country. As you may probably know, Netherlands is one of the best countries in the world when it comes to hockey development. So, this gives Amila a lifetime opportunity to get the much-needed exposure and stand a good chance of being selected to play for one of the teams over there. This would be a great achievement for someone like Amila, who comes from a rural background (Gqala village) in the dusty streets of Tsholomnqa.
Amila’s gradual development in hockey has been very impressive since the age of 12, when he was selected for the provincial team (Border) for the first time.
