About This Campaign

My name is Brandon, and I live with two challenges that shape every day: post‑traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and epilepsy. The flashbacks from my PTSD often trigger seizures, and because the seizures can strike without warning, I’m at constant risk of injury and isolation. I’ve learned to manage my PTSD with therapy and medication, but the seizures remain unpredictable, leaving me vulnerable and anxious about when the next one will hit.
A trained service dog can change that. By detecting subtle changes in my body—like a rapid heartbeat or a change in scent—the dog can alert me up to a minute before a seizure begins. That early warning gives me time to sit down, take medication, or call for help, preventing falls and giving me a renewed sense of safety. With a service dog by my side, I can reclaim moments that epilepsy has taken away and focus on rebuilding my life beyond the fear of the next seizure.
I’m launching a small fundraising campaign because every R50–R100 brings us closer to covering the cost of training and caring for the dog. If you can contribute, share...
