Our dad, Sivalingum Pillay, a 59-year-old full of life and always the most positive person, started battling with his health in 2022 after undergoing an emergency bypass following what was supposed to be a routine check.

In 2023 his health declined even more. He was misdiagnosed with TB and sent home, while his condition continued to worsen. After many tests and finally a bone marrow biopsy, we received devastating news — he was diagnosed with an aggressive bone marrow cancer called myelofibrosis.
