Help Ricardo Heystek Fight This Battle
Ricardo Heystek has already overcome one of life's greatest challenges.
At just 7 years old, Ricardo was diagnosed with cancer. Through incredible courage, determination, and the support of those around him, he beat the disease and went on to build his life with the resilience that has always defined him.
Recently, however, Ricardo's health took another unexpected turn.
He began experiencing seizures that were later found to be caused by a lesion on the left side of his brain. Along with the seizures came severe headaches, which were initially believed to be related to the epilepsy itself or the medication used to control the seizures.
Then, on 29 June 2026, everything changed.
Ricardo suddenly experienced unbearable pressure in his head. His family rushed him to the emergency department at Midmed Hospital, where doctors performed an urgent CT scan. The scan revealed severe swelling of his brain—a life-threatening medical emergency.
