Urgent donations needed, Time is of the Essence!
Ruan (aged 16), one of identical twins, is currently fighting against a rare tumour and TIME! A non-malignant aggressive tumour (Odontogenic Myxoma) in his upper jaw is rapidly growing which destroys the tissue into which it grows and he urgently needs specialised surgery to stop it spreading to the brain. This type of surgery can only be done at certain specialised hospitals in South Africa. The rapid enlargement of the tumour appeared to outpace the planning, hence the urgency for this operation at a Private Institution.
Ruan is an amazing, bright, hardworking and fun-loving typical 16-year-old boy, with ambitions and dreams for the future. Ruan’s world was turned upside down on the 1st of February 2024. A routine dentist visit changed his life forever. The initial anticipation of a simple wisdom tooth niggle turned out to be a very aggressive tumour growing within his upper jaw!
