HRT Fund Joburg is a mutual aid fund based in Johannesburg centred around generating funding for trans bodies in need of gender affirming care as a result of USSAID funding cuts. USAID programs in South Africa provided funding for HIV/AIDS care, prevention and treatment, gender affirming care, as well as promote basic education and combat gender-based violence. Every month we host an event where we accept donations from patrons to raise funds for trans bodies seeking gender affirming care. At these events we book queer and femme DJ’s as a means to platform them and showcase their skills and talent.
