Ignite DSD Scouts: The Cederberg Experience

A young scout from Roodepoort is turning a personal achievement into an opportunity to uplift others in his community.

Fifteen-year-old Rorisang Ngobeni, a member of the 1st Eagles Scout Group in Witpoortjie, has been accepted to attend the prestigious Cederberg Senior Scout Adventure taking place from 7 to 19 December 2026 in the Western Cape, an experience known for developing advanced leadership and outdoor skills among senior scouts.

Ngobeni’s journey in scouting began in 2021, when he joined as a shy and reserved newcomer. Over the years, he has grown into a confident leader, earning recognition as Best Patrol Leader in 2025 and helping his team achieve Best Patrol in the same year. He recently showcased his leadership at the Kontiki 2026 competition, where his patrol secured second place in the Best Supporters Meal category.
