Irresponsible Adults Rediscovering Purpose

My wife, Dibs, and I had long harbored a deep sense of disillusionment, feeling increasingly distant from the dreams we once held dear when we first embarked on our journey together—to explore and experience the vast wonders of the world. Amidst the joys and challenges of raising three children, managing a business, and shouldering daily responsibilities, we found ourselves entrapped by societal expectations: the obligations of being "responsible adults," the pressures of career, homeownership, and the relentless pursuit of financial security for our twilight years.

In early 2023, our youngest son and his wife took a leap of faith, selling all they owned to embark on a spontaneous 7-month odyssey through Africa. Their bold decision stirred something within us. Why should the pursuit of dreams be confined to the bounds of youth? Despite the prevailing societal narrative of responsible adulthood, we resolved to reclaim our sense of adventure and embrace what we playfully termed as "Irresponsible Adults."
