iThemba solar project

At Ithemba School in Fish Hoek, many children rely on the school not only for education, but also for daily meals, structure, and stability. The school supports children from surrounding communities where access to consistent resources is limited, making it a vital place of care, development, and opportunity. For many of these children, it is the one environment where they are guaranteed support, nourishment, and a safe space to learn and grow.

However, a significant portion of the NGO's budget is currently spent on electricity, funds that could instead go toward food, learning materials, and improving the children’s daily lives.

At SamSam SA, we wanted to change that. Instead of only donating to charities and not always seeing direct impact, we decided to take a more hands-on approach where we can actively drive and implement the solution ourselves. In this project, SamSam SA is contributing 2/3 of the total installation costs to make it happen.
