My husband Marcelle and I have been married for seven years and have been trying to conceive for six years. We began a journey with medical specialists to understand our challenges and explore ways to start our family.
On 20 March 2024, I underwent surgery to remove stage 3 endometriosis. During the procedure, it was discovered that my appendix was severely affected and at risk of bursting, so it was removed as well, saving my life. Doctors confirmed that our chances of conceiving naturally are very limited.
Following further tests for insemination, on 7 June 2024, it was confirmed that we will need to pursue IVF. While doctors provide the scientific guidance, we continue to place our hope and trust in God, who ultimately blesses us. The endometriosis has severely affected both of my fallopian tubes, meaning that delaying this process could further impact our fertility.
We were encouraged that, scientifically, I have a 50% chance of conceiving via IVF, thanks to my age and good egg count. Marcell...
