Jade Scherman a 16 year old girl in grade 11 who’s life has been turned upside down in a matter of two weeks. She went to the doctor with back pain, had to have X rays done and was admitted to hospital due to a large buildup of fluids on her left lung. She was rushed to theater to have the lung drained. Two days later she was back into theater to have a second drain inserted into her heart due to a buildup of fluids in the heart sack as well. Several tests were done and a biopsies taken from her neck. She has been diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma cancer. The cancer is around her vital organs, lungs and heart area and had to start chemo urgently. She has gone for 2 CT scans to date. And will require more CT scans which the medical aid is not paying for. Please help us to ensure that she can continue with her treatments so that she has the opportunity to complete her school career and start a life.
At this point she has to have chemo every two weeks for 6 months. After the six month's they can access again to see if they can remove any lymph nodes.
