Janco Bothma - GLRU u/14 7's Lisbon Tour

Janco Bothma – Lisbon 2027

A Small Boy. A Big Dream. An International Stage.

Every young rugby player dreams of one day pulling on a jersey, running onto a field and representing something bigger than himself.

For Janco Bothma, that dream is becoming a reality.

Janco has been selected as part of the Golden Lions Under-14 Rugby 7s group that will travel to Lisbon, Portugal, from 9–16 February 2027 to compete in an international Rugby 7s tournament. The team will face opposition from countries including Portugal, the United Kingdom, Spain, Australia, New Zealand and Scotland.

What makes this journey even more special is that this will be the first-ever Under-14 Golden Lions group to embark on an international tour of this nature.

For Janco, this is far more than simply a rugby tour.

It is the opportunity for a young boy with big dreams to test himself on an international stage, to experience another country and culture, to grow as a player and as a person, and to create memories that could stay with him for the rest of his life.
