To fully embrace the amazing gift of life, to hold onto it and cherish it with all our heart, and to make the most of it while we get to hold its beauty in our hands - this is certainly one of the most important quests of the human race. And the very purpose of this plea for funding.
My dad was diagnosed with end-stage chronic kidney disease a year ago and has since been placed on permanent dialysis treatment (three times per week), as his kidneys are now completely non-functional - and it is only the dialysis that keeps him alive.
Apart from his escalating expenses, which includes a top-tier medical aid contribution to allow him to continue his crucial and life-giving treatment, his day-to-day cost of living has fallen beyond the financial reach of close family members.
The requested funds will be utilised to contribute to his medical care (which includes continued medical fund contributions), as well as the cost of their place of living, for the next year. On recommendation from...
