Portia was seven years old when she walked into a free dance class in Plasticview township. She had nothing but curiosity. Today she's a qualifying dance coach, teaching the next generation of girls who look just like her.
It started with one class. It could start again with you.
The need
Rhythm of Hope Outreach (ROHO), registered NPO 316-367, runs free weekly dance classes for 53 primary school children at Pure Hope Primary School in Plasticview, Pretoria — same curriculum as our commercial studio Rhythm of Hope Dance, same quality, same belief that every child belongs in that room.
Standout dancers are then selected into our Hope Girl Bursary Program, which carries them through high school with professional training, mentorship, and identity-building support.
We don't just teach dance. We build identity: Belonging, Worth, Competence and Leadership. It's what turns a free class into a changed life.
