In 2021, I was diagnosed with spinal cerebellar ataxia — a condition that has progressively taken away my ability to move freely and live independently.
What started as small changes quickly became life-altering.
Today, I face daily challenges that most people never have to think twice about. My condition affects my coordination, balance, and basic motor skills. Simple tasks like walking, eating, speaking clearly, or even holding objects have become incredibly difficult. I experience tremors, unsteady movement, and frequent loss of balance — making it unsafe for me to move around without support.
Before my diagnosis, I worked in sales and lived a full, independent life. I was active, social, and self-sufficient. Losing that independence has been one of the hardest parts of this journey.
I now rely on walking aids full-time, and even with them, mobility is extremely limited.
