My name is Marcelle van der Westhuizen, proud mom of Joy (16). With limited resources, I continue support her in the sport that she loves - swimming.
Joy is a Capetonian club-based swimmer at Aqua Dolphin Swimming Club. She hopes to proudly represent her country on the biggest stages.
In the past she had the privilege of representing South Africa at the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Games in Malawi (2022) and recently (2023) she was selected to compete in the Africa Aquatics 8th Zone 3 Championship in Kigali, Rwanda.
With this campaign we aim to raise funds (R5 000) to enable her to compete in the Level 3 Regional Championships in East London (20-24 March 2024). This is the highlight at the end of the 2023-24 swimming season, competing against her age-group peers. Monies raised will help us pay for transport and accommodation.
