On 21 August 2025, my beautiful four-year-old son, Kaden, was diagnosed with a Brainstem Glioma / Diffuse Midline Glioma – one of the most aggressive and devastating brain cancers in children.
It all began with troubling signs no parent ever wants to see: irritability, imbalance when walking, facial asymmetry, constant headaches, and vomiting. After rushing him for tests, an MRI scan revealed a large 5-centimeter central pontine mass lesion – a tumor at the very core of his brainstem.
This tumor is now blocking the flow of his cerebrospinal fluid, placing immense pressure on his young brain and causing facial asymmetry, difficulty with coordination, and relentless discomfort. The specialists have given us the unbearable news that the tumor is inoperable.
