I am Karabo Masola, a female aged 24 and I am from Alberton South of Johannesburg. I graduated from Stellenbosch University in 2019 in Bsc Food Science and developed passion for business in my 3rd - 4th year of studies as I attended an Entrepreneurial Boot camp hosted by the University. The training stirred my heart because of how the unemployment rate has spiked so high and there is so much hopelessness. With the skills I learned from education, I can apply them in the real world to create opportunities for others.
In 2020 I worked as a Quality Technician for one of the most reputable FMCG companies where I learned how to make wine gums. I further took the opportunity to explore the recipe or formulation at home and after multiple trials I finally came up with the hard candy formulation for personalised events. As a Food Scientist and New Product Developer, I used my skills to further ensure that my products had a range of varying Glycaemic Indices for different types of customers.
