In the last couple of weeks I have been searching inwardly…I have been deep diving for hope, hope for humanity, but in my own context, hope for a chance to make a small difference.
This will be the 3rd year for me starting another round of chemotherapy after my sister and I were both diagnosed with stage 4 Colorectal Cancer in 2022/2023. I am currently waiting to see if I will be on a liver transplant list, no gaurantees, but there is hope, and that is why I want to share this short story and message of hope with all of you. The truth is when you are confronted on all fronts, and your life is in the balance then all you want is hope.
When I go for chemotherapy, there is a seperate ward for kids and for adults. Sometimes a single session for me can be 6 to 8 hours long, and in that time sometimes you will hear laughter from the kids side, but also you will hear tears. I cannot tell you how this moves me during these chemo sessions, I will often stand up with my 6 drips and walk to the nearest window which looks out onto the freeway so that my tears can...
