Kevin Jansen van Vuuren 2024 Update

My son Kevin was in a car accident last year on May 12, 2023. His injuries were severe.

He had lacerations on his liver, bladder and stomach. After hours of surgery, his internal injuries healed very well.

He also had three skull fractures, but the worst being his brain injuries.

Up until now, we have been very blessed to get financial help everywhere, but now the funds are running out again. We do not have a medical fund at all and all his expenses must be paid privately. We have been busy with the Road Accident Fund since last year, but I think everyone knows how it goes. We haven't even received a case number yet.

Kevin has progressed very well in the last 3 months. He was in a coma for 3 months, then until October last year he was in a vegetative state and could only communicate with his eyes. He was cared for in Lynnmed Sub Acute Rehabilitation Hospital in Pretoria until December 2023.
