Kidney Solution for Llew

Our beloved friend, father, and partner is a kidney transplant survivor. His stepdad generously donated a kidney to Llewellyn in 2012, and since then, he has enjoyed a good quality of life. However, in July 2023, Llewellyn’s business suffered a severe financial setback, and things took a turn for the worse.

To cut costs, he had to let go of his medical aid, though he managed to afford his essential medication for a while. By August 2024, however, he could no longer afford the medication that is vital for his survival, costing approximately R15,000 per month. Without it, there was a significant risk of his kidney being rejected.

At the end of August 2024, Llewellyn became gravely ill and faced a life-threatening situation. He was admitted to Steve Biko Academic Hospital, where he underwent numerous tests and was immediately placed back on his necessary medication.
