Hi, I’m Eugene Du Toit, and I’m fighting a daily battle with kidney failure.
On the 14th Of July 2025 my life changed drastically from not feeling so well one day to almost dying the next I collapsed at home and had to be rushed to the emergency room I was admitted to high care where my body started shutting down and I was rushed to ICU where I spent 2 days hanging on the edge fighting for my life. Luckily we have a brilliant Renal Dept at Livingston Government Hospital in Port Elizabeth and the team of Doctors pulled me through and saved my life. I spent another 3 weeks in hospital and have been in and out ever since because of one complication on another.
I’m living with ESKD (End-Stage Kidney Disease) and doing CAPD dialysis every day. It’s tough, painful, expensive, and life-changing — but I’m fighting. And I need your help on this journey.
