Kira Meyer

Our dearest Kira was injured on 10 May while riding her electric scooter. Mother’s Day changed in the blink of an eye. She suffered a severe brain injury and was declared brain dead on 15/05/26. On 16/05/26, Kira received her angel wings in body and soul.

As a family, we are overwhelmed by the worldwide support we have received — the prayers, phone calls, food, and flowers. She was loved by so many people.

While we are trying to arrange her farewell service, the hospital bills are already pouring in. No one ever plans to be prepared for something like this. I have no idea what lies ahead or what all the costs will be; I cannot even bring myself to open the emails yet. Six nights in ICU, numerous tests and scans, of which our medical aid only covers 65%.

We only want to give my little girl the most beautiful service this world has ever seen.

Kira attended Laerskool Skuilkrans, was a Voortrekker at Suiderkruis Kommando, and was a figure skater.
