Dear friends and fellow food lovers,
Errieda du Toit (@huiskok) is one of our country’s most respected and beloved food doyennes and through her tireless championing of South Africa’s food heritage and recipes, she has touched so many hearts with her deep love and commitment towards preserving our rich and colourful food history. Errieda has taught us how to celebrate what’s on our tables, how to gather around food with love, and how to keep our culinary traditions alive. 
A few months ago, Errieda suffered a devastating fall that resulted in a fractured neck and a stroke.  She has had to undergo two surgeries and spent many weeks in hospital and then in step-down facility. Although now at home, she still faces a long and difficult road to recovery and requires full-time assisted care and therapy. This includes a permanent carer, physiotherapy sessions, psychiatrist, medication and much more.
Errieda has given so much of her heart and her life unselfishly to all of us - now it's time for us to help her in her real time of need.
