My name is Lauren Radcliffe (22) from Benoni, Johannesburg. In 2020 I was about to start my second year as a BA Psych student at Wits University when i was diagnosed with leukemia (AML), a type of blood cancer. My life changed in an instant but I decided to remain positive on this new part of my life, I went through chemotherapy and then had a stem cell transplant which was successful, I then went back to my studies in 2021 and was getting back to normality but unfortunately I relapsed one year after my transplant which resulted in me having to leave my studies once again. I proceeded to go onto a different treatment plan which eventually resulted in me needing a second stem cell transplant in 2022 which was also successful and I had started to recover and even started my first job but after 6 months I relapsed again in late December 2022.

My doctor had then decided to put me onto a different treatment plan consisting of a few important and expensive medications but unfortunately the first part this treatment has used up majority of the medical aid fun...
