Laylah’s Skin Cancer Surgery Fund

Hi Everyone,

I never imagined I would be writing something like this and swallowing my pride, but I am reaching out for help during a very difficult time.

I have recently been diagnosed with two invasive nodular basal cell carcinomas (skin cancer) on both sides of my collarbone / upper chest. After the initial biopsy and removal, the pathology confirmed that the cancer extends deeper into the skin and underlying tissue, which means I now urgently need a wide local excision surgery with a plastic surgeon to fully remove it and prevent it from returning or spreading further.

Because of the location and depth, this procedure will also require reconstruction /  skin grafting, and unfortunately I do not currently have medical aid.

I have explored the public hospital route, but was advised that I would first be placed on a waiting list for an initial consultation, which may take approximately 3 to 6 months. Given that this is confirmed skin cancer requiring further urgent surgery, I have already booked the surgery for 24 April and now need to raise the funds...
