It's Lee here, and I'm reaching out to each of you with profound gratitude as well as a pressing sense of urgency. I sincerely hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits.
For the past six years, I've been grappling with scoliosis, a condition that has tested my resilience and resolve. In 2018, I underwent my first major surgery (full spinal fusion 1), a daunting experience that marked the beginning of a challenging journey. Then, in 2020, I faced a second surgery (full spinal fusion 2), confronting the unknown with courage and determination that hopefully it'd be the last.
Recently, a setback occurred when one of the rods supporting my spine snapped, and last disc (L5) slipped 2cm off tailbone (S1), plunging me into a world of constant/ hopeless pain. Despite this setback, I've been tirelessly seeking treatment across vast borders, from the landscapes of Europe to my home of South Africa.
