Imagine walking into class on Monday morning with absolutely nothing. No pen, no notebook, no eraser. For thousands of brilliant kids in under-resourced communities across Cape Town, this isn't imagination—it is their daily reality.
We are LIFT (Literacy Is the Foundation of Tomorrow), a powerful youth-led movement founded by 16-year-old Nicola K, an alumnus of the Junior City Council of Cape Town and an official Ambassador for the World Literacy Foundation.
What started as a local vision has grown into an international network. Our immediate mission right now is to raise R50,000 to provide high-quality, long-lasting stationery packs to students in need at Klipheuwel and Monument Park High School, ensuring they walk into class equipped, confident, and ready to learn.
