Liza Moondancer Robben Island-Blouberg

The essence of Panthera Africa is all about the rescue, rehabilitation and life-long care of the Big Cats that our ethical sanctuary honours and supports in their journey. Their lives begun being born in captivity - having been taken away from their parents and natural habitat, whilst sometimes only days old and then more often than not, being abused and neglected by their illegal “owners”.

The wellbeing of these animals is core to our Mission and the nurturing of these majestical beings involves the right care, diet, supplements and activities. All our dealings are ethical and our Vision and Purpose is to bring an end to all commercial exploitation-including breeding, trading or hands on interaction of animals. The running of our facility costs money and we rely heavily on donations and sponsorships for the upkeep of the facility, food and veterinary costs.
