Dreams vs reality

As a mother you always pray for your children. As a mother you always wish the best for them. As a mother you dream about them growing up, falling in love, getting married and becoming parents themselves.  But sometimes reality hurts.

 

I am Lizelle Schmidt. A mother  of two beautiful young women, Annette and Arnelle. I raised them mostly by myself and made sure to instill love for each other and for me. We most certainly did not have a lot of money but we did have love... lots of love and lots of dreams.

 

In October 2022 Arnelle, my youngest daughter went to America to gain valuable experience as a pastry chef.  And here reality happened... she met the love of her life and in July 2023 I received the news that they are pregnant. She is so incredibily happy and will be the most amazing mom. I am more than ready to be a granny and felt over the moon. But here is where life is hurting. Arnelle and Victor will stay in America, in fact they just got married. And although I am so very happy for them, I am sad too. I missed it. I missed...
