On February 6th, 2025, just a day before his second birthday, Logan began showing signs of illness. Despite multiple doctor visits, his condition worsened. On February 19th, his pediatrician, Dr. Nolwandle Duma, admitted him to ARWYP Hospital for tests. While initial bloodwork showed no infection, an MRI revealed devastating news—Logan had a 5-6 cm brain tumor.
The next day, neurosurgeon Dr. Sipho Mabaso confirmed the tumor was aggressive, growing into Logan’s brain and spine. Logan’s parents reached out to specialists, leading them to Prof. Llewellyn Padayachy, a world-renowned pediatric neurosurgeon at Steve Biko Academic Hospital. By February 23rd, Logan was transferred to Sandton Mediclinic, where a CT scan revealed dangerous fluid buildup, requiring immediate intervention.
That night, Logan underwent surgery to insert a drain and prepare for tumor removal. On February 26th, he endured a high-risk, 9-hour surgery. Against all odds, the surgery was a success, with more of the tumor removed than expected. Logan’s recovery was remarkable—by February 27th, he was breat...
