The story of our mom, Lori

My mom has always been the kind of person who carries everyone else before herself. To most people she’s a helper, a leader, a teacher, or the woman who somehow always knows how to make things better. To us, she’s simply Mom — our safe place.

She spends her days caring for others, guiding young girls through Girl Guides, helping children learn, working hard for her family, and still somehow finding the energy to love people loudly and completely. Even when life became difficult, she kept showing up with strength, humor, and kindness.

Recently, her health has taken a difficult turn - cancer, Lupus, heart failure and Chronic Obstructive pulmonary disease and the medical costs and treatments have become overwhelming for our family.

As her daughters, it’s hard watching someone who has always been so strong now needing help herself.

We are starting this BackaBuddy campaign to help ease some of the financial pressure so she can focus on resting, healing, and spending time with the people she loves most. She is in need of a portabl...
