A Father's Wish: Ensuring every child has access to a quality education

One father asked another, “What would you do with all the money in the world?” After a few seconds of silence, a simple answer followed: "I would educate my children." 

This fireside conversation became the catalyst for Luma Learn.

Our mission is to embrace that simple wish by making education accessible and affordable for every child in Africa.  A child's potential should never be limited by where they live or what their parents can afford. That's why our education platform is built on WhatsApp, a tool already in the hands of millions.

With Luma, learning is as easy as sending a message. There’s no need for expensive laptops or tablets. Our platform removes economic and complicated technical barriers and delivers resources directly to learners — resources they need to succeed, in a language they’re comfortable with.

To date, Luma has already served over 10,000 learners in 11 languages across South Africa.
