Madissen is a young girl who is passionate about gymnastics. Madissen also happens to have Trisomy 21 also known as Down Syndrome.
This obsession with gymnastics started just before lockdown. We found a small club and she went weekly to lessons, sadly lockdown happened and we were force to not send her to her lessons.
True Madi style, she watched hours and hours of gymnastics on YouTube and even managed to self teach herself some of the near impossible moves.
Her determination grew with her strength, after lockdown we sent her back to lessons.
This past year, Madissen competed in many gymnastics meets and even got her KZN colours as a typical Gymnast. This is a huge accomplishment and we are super proud of her.
This is where the next big step comes in, Madissen has been earmarked to compete at the Down Syndrome World Champs in Bulgaria in June 2026.
This is a self funded comp and we would need to fund, Madi, a parent and the coach.
