Maja's contract in Los Angeles

My name is Maja Snyman, a 17-year-old violinist from a farm near Groot Brak River South Africa. Music has been my passion since I was just 4 years old, and having seen someone playing the violin `I wanted “to play a guitar that sits on my shoulder”. 

From the moment `I held my first violin in my hands, I've poured my heart and soul into it, dedicating myself to its beautiful sound. I also started playing piano at the age of 6, incorporating it with vocal training. But, if I have to choose an instrument, violin stays my favourite. 

At the age of 7, I was selected to perform a 9-minute concerto with the Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra – a defining moment that solidified my love for music and performing. Since then, countless stages have become my platform, from prestigious Eisteddfods to national competitions. The thrill of sharing my music resonated deeply when I won Talent Africa twice and even sweeter was claiming the title of Overall Performer at the South African Championships of Performing Arts in 2022 (junior division).
