Major Voices

We are Major Voices, a male choir founded in 2012 in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, South Africa.

Born in a township where many young people face the daily realities of crime, unemployment, and drugs, we chose a different path. Through music, we found purpose, brotherhood, and a way forward—not just for ourselves, but for our community. We are best known for performing Isicathamiya—a traditional South African a cappella style that blends harmony, rhythm, and movement—but our repertoire extends across multiple genres, reflecting both our heritage and our growth as artists.

Our mission is to use our voices to empower, uplift, and inspire. What began as a shared passion has grown into something greater: a movement rooted in hope, discipline, and transformation. Through our performances, we aim to show that talent can rise from anywhere, and that change is possible when people come together with intention.
