Hello! My name is Malakai Fietze. I am a transgender man from South Africa who intends on getting top surgery (double mastectomy) as soon as I can.
Last year I started a campaign on BackABuddy to raise funds to start testosterone. I am very grateful to be able to say that I successfully raised enough money to start testosterone on October 1st of last year (2024).
I truly cannot thank everyone who helped enough! You have all without a doubt saved my life and I am eternally grateful.
As you can imagine, the surgery I am aiming to have done is far from cheap, and there is unfortunately no way for me to pay for it one hundred percent by myself.
Which is why I am asking again for your help!
Cost breakdown of periareolar surgery:
Surgery cost: R68500
Hospital/room fees: R31670
Anaesthetic fees: 11500
(Per) follow up procedure: R25000 (will likely need two)
Pressure garment: R1300
Total: R162970
Additional R14030 to fall back on for any unforeseen costs / issues throughout the process
