Mandilakhe Phantsi is a talented field hockey goalkeeper and has been selected to represent the Eden Mens Hockey Team at the 2024 SACD Tournament hosted by the KZN Inland Hockey Federation. Teams from all over the country will compete at this tournament which will be held at Hilton College from Sunday, 30 June 2024 to Saturday, 6 July 2024.
Mandi started playing hockey at the age of 12. Playing hockey helped him deal with the passing of his father in that same year. He went on to achieve SWD colours from 2013 - 2017. Mandi is now 25 years old, and is still very dedicated to the sport.
Playing in the SACD Tournament means a lot to Mandi, but he is struggling to raise the necessary funds to participate. His dream is to be selected for the SA Country Districts side. Players for this side will be selected at the tournament in July.
