This is Manie Taljaard a 38-year-old man. At the age of 9 month’s Manie had his first big surgery…draining his kidneys, from here to the age of 15 years old he was constantly in and out of Hospital with kidney problems. At the age of 21 Manie was diagnosed with kidney failure this caused years of dialysis making him no stranger to the cold hospital hallways. After doctors claimed Manie would only have 3 months left to live, he got a kidney transplant on 18 January 2012 at the age of 23. This would be the day his life would change…the day he would be free from the hospital bed. Unfortunately, last year Manie got diagnosed with lip cancer and the hospital bed he so dreaded had returned. After 2 surgeries they successfully removed his lip cancer…but it seems this was only the tip of the iceberg. After 3 unbarring weeks of suffering Manie has been diagnosed with stomach cancer. As we know he is a fighter and after doctors said, “we can’t do anything for him” they have now been saying “he is a walking miracle”.
