Marching to a bright future

At Nerina Primary School located in Bonteheuwel Cape Town a marching band has started as a extra mural activity. The marching band has brought much excitement as this brought out learners drive and enthusiasm. Initially Leaners were required to be carted to a different location to do their training due to lack of equipment (drums and sticks). Three weeks after intense training the learners displayed what they have been taught at the school food fair and was well praised by the community.

The positive side of being in the marching band is that this taught the leaners discipline, good work ethic, self control, teamwork and leadership skills.

The challenges we are facing is the financial implications. Uniform, Transportation for competitions and equipment are required to make the make this a success for our kids in a disadvantaged community.

The community in which these kids are brought up in are of low income/unemployment therefore we want to appeal to you for your support in any monetary form.
