With the welcome inclusion of women into Surfboat rowing in South Africa since 2020, the sport and performance levels have grown in leaps and bounds.
The phenomenal Marine Surf Lifesaving Club Surfboat Crew of dedicated ladies has through grit, determination, many hours of hard work and fantastic team spirit, epitomised what it takes to become champions. They have won the South African Surfboat Championships back-to-back in 2022 & 2023. The crew is known by their team's name which is the “Marine Mongrels” – they are: -
