Hello, I am Mathudi Ralekhetho, a 21-year-old student at the University of Pretoria facing the daunting challenge of retinal detachment in my left eye, risking complete blindness.
Discovered in September 2023, urgent surgery, costing about R79 300, became a critical necessity. Financial constraints redirected me to temporary laser treatment at Steve Biko public hospital. Unfortunately, an attempted operation on November 13th at Dr. George Mukhari public hospital, was abruptly halted by a malfunctioning machine. With rescheduling for March 2024 posing a threat to my studies and my way of life, I urgently seek funds for PPV surgery in January at Centurion Eye Private Hospital to preserve my vision.
