Studies show that up to 3 million girls miss 25% of their school year due to challenges related to menstrual hygiene management. The rippling impact this has on their mental health and literacy capability is detrimental to their growth. We’ve heard countless heartbreaking stories of girls resorting to using leaves, newspaper, and other harmful materials during their periods. When will this vicious cycle stop?

Please join us, Makayla (24) and Estrada (28), in giving girls in South Africa the dignity and care they deserve. We first met through a social media campaign, and through our shared values sparked a powerful friendship, leading us to team up for a cause close to our hearts.

Estrada has been running sanitary pad drives for the past year through her business, La Bisou Lingerie, and generous donors, supporting young girls at a primary school in Cosmo City, Gauteng. Makayla recently launched Socialite Gives Back, a division of her company, Socialite Digital in effort to give back to the community.
