My Story: Living With 12 Years of Back Pain

I'm 30 years old, and I've been in pain for more than 12 years.

Not the kind of pain that comes and goes. The kind that's there when I wake up, there while I work, and there when I try to sleep, 24 hours a day, every single day.

My lower back doesn't let me sit for long. 
It doesn't let me stand for long. 
All mornings, I wake up with pain. 
I can not bend and pick up stuff.

Over the years, I've seen specialist after specialist. Chiropractors. Physiotherapists. Countless X-rays and sonograms.

I've tried every pain medication available, right up to Schedule 6, but even that comes at a cost, because it leaves me too drowsy to function, and I still have a life and a job to show up for.

I work 13-hour days teaching online, pushing through the pain because the bills don't stop coming.
I try my best to pay all of my own bills, but I need help.

In 2018, a doctor told me I was too young for surgery.
