Marielle (12 years old) is a miracle child that have overcome so much in her of life. From a fatal rare desease(Histoplasmosis) at 9 month old to an open heart surgery at 2 years old, and now Scoliosis!
Recently (April 2026) she was diagnosed with Scoliosis. On the 9 September 2026 we were able to see a Specialist that confirmed her case has worsen.
Her scoliosis curve is affecting her lungs and movement.
Urgent correction and stabilisation procedure need to take place. She need to under go a Posterior Kyphoscoliossis repair + Osteotomies.
The operation is set to take place on the 29 September 2026, unfortunately we had to prosponed the operations to the 19th November 2026.
Currently the medical aid will NOT cover the operations. As they are seeing it as an selective operation and not urgent. We are currently working with the medical for different options.
We are in urgent need of assistance to cover the cost to make this surgery possible!
