A Grandfather’s Promise: Help Me Build a Home for My 10 Grandchildren

My name is Joseph Kgotleng. I am 63 years old, and I am raising my ten grandchildren on my own.

Life has not been easy for our family. Their father has not been able to care for them, and I could not stand by and watch them grow up without the support, love, and stability they deserve. As their grandfather, I stepped in and took responsibility for them.

Today, my home is filled with ten young lives who depend on me every day. The eldest is now 16 years old, and the others are growing fast. They are children with dreams, hopes, and the potential to build better futures for themselves.

But as they grow older, the small space we live in is no longer enough. The children need room to sleep, study, and grow in a safe environment.

Determined to give them a better life, I used everything I could to purchase a property where we could finally have a proper home. Unfortunately, the house is still incomplete and cannot yet safely accommodate the family.
