My name is Zeenat from Gauteng, Johannesburg

Our son Moegamat Keyaan Omar was born at 37 weeks premature on the 24 December 2019 and was admitted into NICU for a month and 5 days due to low oxygen levels feeding intolerance that we later found out was a cows milk allergy.

Once he was home we had noticed he could not fixate on toys or light or movement. At his 7th month check-up in July 2020 we were concerned and notified his paediatrician which led us to see an opthamologist.

We ended up seeing 3 different opthamologists still in 2020 and they all diagnosed Moegamat Keyaan with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia. It is a rare eye condition caused by under developed nerves behind the eye that was not fully developed during his growth inside the womb during the 3 trimesters and unfortunately there is no surgery for his condition. Recently Keyaan was diagnosed as well with Epilepsy, Cererbral Palsy,Autism and Growth Hormone deficiency.

His condition requires him having regular visits from 2020 still ongoing till now with his paediatric...
