My dream is to become a teacher

I grew up in a very small town in the Eastern Cape. I grew up with only a Grandmother by my side. She struggled a lot as she had to use her pension money to look after me.

Despite all the difficult situations surrounding me when I was young I chose to rise above everything. Education is the only option for me to better my life. 

After school, I enrolled at the University of Stellenbosch and completed my first three year successfully. Due to financial reasons, I could not continue with my studies. I tried everything but was left devastated. 

I chose to not give up!

I started working at a school outside of Stellenbosch as a supervisor (lunchtimes and during aftercare). I have worked my way up at the school and I now work in the isiXhosa Language department. My fighting spirit has helped me achieve my goals now I need your help.

I also started studying towards my education degree at Unisa 4 years ago. I applied for the Funza bursary (education bursary) however I was denied because I am over 30....
