Support Monica Stofberg in Her Brave Fight Against Cancer for the second time
Monica Stofberg, a 59-year-old resident of Franskraal, is facing one of the toughest battles of her life — for the second time.
In 2016, Monica was diagnosed with breast cancer in her left breast. She courageously underwent a mastectomy and, after treatment, went into remission. For years, she remained strong and hopeful.
However, on 15 April 2026, during her routine annual check-up, doctors discovered a lump beneath her breastbone. Further tests revealed devastating news: Monica had developed a new, highly aggressive form of stage 3 breast cancer.
Given that this is her second diagnosis, Monica and her doctors had to make an incredibly difficult decision. Due to a 90% risk of the cancer spreading, she underwent a second mastectomy — this time on her right breast as well.
On 21 April 2026, Monica bravely went through two major surgeries. She is currently recovering at home, showing remarkable strength and resilience.
