Monte Rosa Blooming Beautifully

In the heart of Gardens, Cape Town, nestled between Oranjezicht and Tamboerskloof, stands Monte Rosa – a beautiful Victorian care home built in 1885. For nearly 140 years, this cherished landmark, has been a place of comfort, care, and dignity for older persons.

Today, Monte Rosa is home to 111 residents. These are mothers and fathers, grandparents, teachers, nurses, artisans, business owners, and workers who spent their lives contributing to our communities, our economy, and the society we enjoy today. They dedicated their years to building a better future for the generations that followed.

Now, it is our turn.

As Monte Rosa continues its mission under the care of Badisa and its dedicated volunteer board, the building itself faces the challenges that come with age. To provide the quality care our residents deserve, essential upgrades are needed—carefully preserving the home's rich heritage while preparing it for the future.
